I’m going to India on a Vegan Adventure | Ahimsa Trail with GO India Initiative *

This is blog is an introduction to a gifted press trip: the Ahimsa Trail, which I’ll be taking in April with GO India Initiative. If you like the sound of it, you can also book to go on the same trip with them, too! India has always been high up on my list of countries I would love to visit someday – seeing the picturesque…

Award Winning Vegan Menu at Brick Lane’s Best Indian Restaurant | City Spice *

City Spice Brick Lane Indian Restaurant Vegan Menu

In January I will have lived in London for 4 years, and can you believe that in those years I had never ventured into one of the Indian restaurants on London’s famous Brick Lane? Well all that changed recently thanks to an invite from City Spice – the Brick Lane Curry-House that has recently won ‘Best Vegan Indian Restaurant’ in the prestigious Bangladesh Caterers Association Awards (also…

I Tried Vegan Speed Dating in London…

Vegan Speed Dating Coach and Horses Soho London

When I was invited to try out Original Dating’s brand new Vegan Speed Dating evening last month, I just knew I had to give it a go. At this point, my only insight into the world of speed dating was *that* scene in the film ’40 Year Old Virgin’ where the character played by Steve Carrel is pressured to go by his friends to try…

Personalised Christmas Gifts with Amazon Handmade *

Amazon Handmade Reindeer Name Place Setting

I try my best not to get sucked into the excessive consumerism of Christmas, and always prefer bespoke/tailored gifts over disposable “stuff”. So I was pretty pleased to find out that Amazon, one of the most popular online shopping sites in the world has a handmade section for personalised gifts from small independent businesses. It’s such a fantastic opportunity for them to two into the…

Vegan Afternoon Tea in Westminster | Corinthia Hotel *

Corinthia Hotel London Vegan Afternoon Tea

As far as afternoon tea goes, it’s not something I am particularly well versed in. I’m often asked for recommendations of vegan afternoon tea options in London for those either visiting the capital as tourists, or Londoners wanting something different for a special afternoon. Well I can safely say I now have a recommendation and it is OH-so-fancy! Located in the middle of Westminster, the gorgeous Corinthia…

Why Purezza is one of the Best Restaurants in London *

Purezza Camden Parkway Vegan Pizza

As far as vegan options in London go, it can be quite hit or miss. However, one place that is always a HUGE hit for me is the incredible Purezza. Which is on Parkway, just 2 minutes walk from Camden Town Station Purezza (which means Purity) first opened in Brighton in 2015 as the UK’s first all vegan pizzeria. Since then they opened up shop…

Queer & Curvy Cat Lady 💘 Another lifestyle blog, but with a colourful & alternative edge. Covering all kinds of subjects inc. vegan & cruelty-free food/drink/products, self love & body confidence, bring lgbtq+, festivals, travel & adventure... To name a few. Usually found cuddling animals (especially cats), visiting restaurants with plant-based options, singing my heart out at gigs, or covered in glitter in a festival field.

I’ve tried to replicate this perf eyeliner 3 tim I’ve tried to replicate this perf eyeliner 3 times since I took this last week, and failed every time 🌝 What are your fave cruelty-free & vegan black liquid liners? Bonus points if waterproof 💦Recently I’ve been switching between a few (wearing @hauslabs here ⚡️) but tbh none of them are very good at withstanding my ridiculously watery eyes... That’s why they often look glassy - promise I’m not actually on the brink of crying all the time (only some of the time 🥲).
Got pommed in the park today @merida.pom 🦊 thos Got pommed in the park today @merida.pom 🦊 those little muddy feet 🥺 love that we are doing a kinda similar closed mouth smile?? basically this emoji innit ☺️! Fully didn’t realise how long my hair has got either & saw this pic like “erm is that really what it looks like”? 🧜🏻‍♀️
Cheers to the freakin' weekend 🥂 another instal Cheers to the freakin' weekend 🥂 another instalment of #IsThatDrinkVegan to *save* for your next trip to the offie (I’m sure a few of us will be doing that tonight 🌝). This week I’m talking ROSÉ🍷 I’m a sucker for a pink drink, and usually rosé is my first wine choice 💖 ft. my very cute sidekick Boo @camdencatcrew 🥺
~
SOME WINE’S NOT VEGAN? I’ve explained about this before in the series, but to recap: the reason some wine isn’t vegan is due to the clarification process of ‘fining’ to stop wine being hazy/cloudy. Commonly used fining agents are:
🥛 casein - milk protein
🥚 albumin - egg whites
🐷 gelatin - animal protein
🐟 isinglass - fish bladder protein
These aren’t necessarily present as ingredients in the wine, but many vegans do try & avoid if they use the above - because animal products are needed in the process for the final product to be made.
~
WINES SHOWN (R-L):
• @sainsburys ‘House’ White Zinfandel Rosé - a cheap & cheerful choice!
• @maisonmirabeau ‘Forever Summer’ - first time trying this & LOVED! Mirabeau are a multiple award-winning French winery who also make gin, and have a global vegan certification! On the front of the bottle even says ‘plant based’ and it has a vegan label on the back. This was the most expensive of the 4 on show (£11) but was absolutely delish, would certainly buy it again!
• @freixenetuk - this is one of my fave prosecco brands and the bottles are just lovely (my mum likes to keep them and fill them with fairy lights), but I didn’t know they did wine too! The bottle is a slightly diff shape, and I’m happy to report back that the wine is just as tasty
• @sainsburys ‘Mondelli’ Pinot Grigio Rose - as you can tell they are my local so do feature a fair bit (if only they would notice me 👀)
~
Other brands not pictured to check out (please note: not all products from these brands are vegan so double check the label first/head to barnivore.com): @broadlanddrinksltd (Time Keeper Rosé), @bodegasantajulia (Santa Julia Malbec Rosé), @drink_nice (canned rosé), @pinotpinotwines (canned rosé), and @proudlyveganwines.
~
All the above is correct at time of posting ✨ Drink responsibly & have a gorge weekend 💕

Ok I lied, there’s a bit more... I wanted to add that I’ve talked a lot recently about weight & my weight gain over the past year, so I’ve got nothing extra to say today besides that I was inspired by seeing some #WorldObesityDayHack posts today to take this & then actually post it (bit scary 😶)! OH & it’s my back rolls first debut - plz welcome them! You’ve seen side boob before, so that’s old news lol.
~
ANYWAYS plz click the hashtag above & read the captions on everyone’s posts 😌 sharing some faves to my story tonight, too!
