Simba Mattress first impressions | a dreamy night sleep

The following blog features a pr product that Simba Mattresses sent to me for review, this has not affected my opinion of the products and this blog is an honest reflection of my thoughts & experience with the brand.

My best friends bed is one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept on, it is up there as as good as (if not better than) the (few) fancy hotels I’ve stayed in. I found out she had one of those Simba Mattresses! So when the brand got in touch asking if I would like one of my own to share a review about – I jumped at the chance!

My first Simba Mattress…

For the past few weeks I’ve been getting used to having a brand new mattress. It’s the first time in 15 years, and only the second time in my life I’ve had that fresh outta the packet/plastic cover/box kinda vibe! Which essentially means this is the first time in my proper adult fully out-of-teen life… AND this one is memory foam which (spoiler alert) has been an absolute game changer.

It arrived in a box, which almost seemed too small for a mattress (folded and rolled? The physics of that is mind blowing?). Once I found a suitable spot to open it, to allow for it to expand for 24 hours, and was able to get rid of my old mattress – the excitement was SO real… (And naturally my cat decided the old box made the perfect box to play/sleep in).

Why buy a Simba Mattress?

I got the Simba Hybrid Mattress with the Hybrid Duvet and what a combination it has been so far! With the cooler months coming, and heating costing extortionate amounts, knowing I will by cosy at night (as a very sleepy gal with a busy life), is ever so exciting.

The Hybrid Mattress is special because it not only has springs, but also memory foam – a total of 5 layers of comforting stuff with a medium firmness. You can’t feel (or hear) the springs, and the memory foam is just dreamy!

Beyond the comfort and enjoyment of sleeping on it, it’s reassuring to know that the company is the UK’s first B-Corp Sleep Brand. They offer a service where they will collect old mattresses (no purchase necessary) for a small fee, to save it going to landfill – they have such a focus on environmental impact, beyond their own products, which really is a bitta me!

They offer a 10 year guarantee, and a 200 night home trial, what’s the harm in trying, hey?

My Simba Hybrid Mattress Honest Review

It’s been a few weeks, and golly I do feel I’m a changed woman! My expectations were high as I’ve heard so much (and had a handful of lovely experiences) but I will admit that at first, I did get that ‘fear’ about whether I’d done the right thing… Pleased to report I needn’t have worried. I’ve told everyone and their dog about my new mattress now, and I feel very smug knowing that every evening I am going to melt into the soft memory foam topped multi layer mattress and have a delightful night sleep! My plus size body feels supported and comfortable, and the duvet is ever cosy.

I can’t recommend Simba Mattresses enough.
