Street Feast Treats in Shoreditch | Dinerama

On November 21st I made plans with friends for a birthday outing, somewhere we could eat food, drink alcohol, and catch up. All the socialising, eating and drinking took place at Dinerama, a place I had heard about, but was encouraged to go to by my lovely blogging partner in crime, Lissa (Girl At The Rock Show – she briefly mentions our visit here).

When walking up to the entrance of Dinerama it almost looks like you’re about to walk into a scrap yard, very unassuming and underwhelming… I was almost concerned I was at the wrong place… But after passing a few barrels that were (intentionally) on fire, I turned a corner and was greeted by an amazing indoor food market style atmosphere!

There is a vast selection of food available if you’re a meat eater, however it is a little more limited as a Veggie (and now I’m Vegan for Veganuary the choices would be far more limited I think). Adding to all of the food there is also a pretty impressive range of drinks available at all kinds of pop-up bars, whether it’s a Craft Beer Can from the German Sex Dungeon or a seasonal Cocktail from the Big Bar.

Being my birthday, and because I had purposefully not eaten since breakfast so I had plenty of space, I thought I would treat myself with my food choices. I opted for nibbles (understatement of the year!) from 3 places – a vegetarian burger from Baba G’s, sweet potato fries with cheese sauce from Cheeky Italian and a Margherita (with extra olives) from Fundi Pizza.

I’m a big fan of Indian food, so when I saw Baba G’s Vegetarian burger containing Saag Paneer (spinach & Indian cheese) with chutney, I couldn’t resist. I also got an extra dollop of cucumber raita.

After a little breather I headed to Fundi Pizza, who make your chosen pizza right front of you, before being placed in a wood powered pizza oven. I would go as far as to say it’s in my top 5 favourite pizzas of all time, and I have eaten a lot of pizza…

If you’re thinking about heading down, I definitely recommend arriving before 7pm, because not only is it free (from when it opens at 5pm) until 7pm, it’s a lot quieter and easier to find somewhere to sit before loads of other people arrive! Check out the Dinerama website for a full list of the food & drink choices available!

After being introduced to the whole London pop-up thing by Lissa, I love visiting new ones that have great atmospheres! Are there any you’ve been to that I should try?

My birthday fun continued on Monday 23rd when my mum and I went for dinner at Tibits and to see Cats – The Musical!
