TheVeganKind #TVK42 | Vegan Subscription Box*

It’s that time again, a blog for y’all about my thoughts on this months subscription box from TheVeganKind: #TVK42! There were some fab bits in this box, so let me tell you about it all!

(This time around both of my housemates kitties got involved in the photos, hope you enjoy their little faces)

The recipe this month is from @avantgardevegan who I actually already knew about through instagram. Gaz (the man behind the recipes) creates lovely colourful dishes. And this recipe is no different. It’s a great, easy to follow how to guide to make chargrilled veg skewers with tofu, super simple and sounds absolutely delicious!

Rebel Kitchen Chai Mylk – 330ml (RRP £1.89) – I absolutely LOVE Rebel Kitchen as a company. I met some lovely members of their team at Vegfest in 2015 and the chocolate flavoured mylk is sooo good – I often buy it in the shops, however I hadn’t tried this flavour before. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the choc one (I’ve never liked chai/tea/coffee), but it was interesting to try never the less.

Ten Acre When Bombay Got Spicy Crisps (RRP £0.85) – Spicy Bombay Potato flavoured crisps… What’s not to love? These were delicious and from a company I hadn’t heard of before, but I’ll certainly be buying them next time I see a packet on the shelf! Not too hot (spice-wise) but really rich in flavour – they would be particularly great dunked in guacamole.

Considerit Chocolate Cream Egg (RRP £2) – Well, where to start? I don’t know how else to describe this other than WOW! If you’re vegan/lactose intolerant and you were a fan of the Cadbury’s cream eggs once upon a time, you’ll probably be as amazed as I was at the concept of a vegan cream egg! Although this doesn’t taste exactly the same, it did taste veeeryyy good. A rich dark chocolate egg filled with white and yellow fondant. This was a welcome treat on Easter Sunday.

InSpiral Salted Caramel Coconut Pecks – 25g (RRP £0.99) – I’ve actually tried these before and honestly they’re not for me. Although I usually love coconut things, I huuugely dislike salted caramel flavoured things. So I didn’t enjoy these. My friend however did really enjoy them, so if you’re partial to salted caramel I’m sure they taste great!

Good Hemp Foods Hemp Heart Seeds – 225g (RRP £4.49)  I am a big fan of food I can sprinkle on salads, and I often use nuts, such as ground almonds, cashews or whole pine nuts. However it was a first for me trying hemp heart seeds, and not only are high in protein, omega 3 as well as essential amino & fatty acids (so they’re a great source of goodness), but they taste pretty good too! Very mild and a little bit nutty.

Human+Kind Orange Conditioner – 200ml (RRP £7.00)  I was first introduced to this brand in my first TVK box two months ago (link), and I am just in love with the packaging. This bottle of conditioner wasn’t any different – it looked beautiful. The conditioner is labelled specifically for dry hair which is a blessing for me as the end of mine (due the bleach) is a little dry and frazzled. This smelt absolutely amazing and left my hair feeling silky and smooth.

As always, 10p from every box sold this month goes towards a charity/campaign that’s helping support animals. This month it’s going towards the money being raised for Lotus Sanctuary so that they can start Scotland’s first all vegan run animal sanctuary. They will love, care for & shelter animals who need it – whether they’ve escaped slaughter, been abused and made homeless or have been injured. A great idea and definitely one to donate to if you can. Check out their fundraising page here & their Facebook page here!
